This spherical mixed media sculpture celebrates the enduring strength, creativity, and resilience of women throughout history and today. Crafted from cement, paint, and doilies, the work brings together materials that speak to both permanence and delicacy—the structural solidity of cement paired with the intricate, handcrafted beauty of doilies.

The embedded doilies honor the skilled labor performed by women across generations, elevating what has often been dismissed as "women's work" to the realm of fine art. "I am woman" stands as both a tribute to those who came before and an affirmation of women's continuing presence and power in shaping our world.

Two of Jessica's spheres were accepted into the Smithville Mansion Annex 49 annual juried art exhibit. The first, aptly named "Prickly," is a 24-inch diameter tactile string sphere reflecting how we tend to guard our vulnerabilities through interwoven physical sharpness and emotional defensiveness. The second piece, "Time," is a reflection on how time can render our core being strong and stable while our outer shell reflects how time changes us and the beauty in that transformation.
